Where is Click Away 2019 located?

C A L I F O R N I A! Specifically, at The Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point. And it is incredible. Our best location yet! Why, you ask?

Everything you have heard is true. Welcome to the land of endless summer.

Well, first off, we have the surfer dotted coastline, cliffs, and pacific blue waters (what’s not to love?). Second, the resort sits on a bluff in Dana Point, providing incredible sunset views and the feeling of complete tranquility. You will never run out of things to photograph here. It's truly a creative oasis.

Is Click Away for beginner or advanced photographers? Hobbyists or Pros?

All of the above! Click Away offers a range of educational programming. From natural light lifestyle sessions with children, to styled wedding shoots, to processing demos, to business & branding classes, Click Away has programming for photographers at all levels and across a variety of genres – and you can build a custom schedule that is perfect for you. Where can I see the full schedule or Programs and Events?

We are working on developing the best line up yet! Those who pre-register receive an exclusive discount (this is a limited offer, so grab your spot!), and we will be announcing the instructor lineup, programming, and more event details over the coming months.

When can I build my custom schedule?

We are working on developing the best line up yet, and you’ll be able to begin building your schedule once the official programming and instructor lineup is unveiled. Pre-registered Attendees will be notified in advance of the schedule’s reveal with details on when and how to develop their custom schedule.

What's included with my ticket?

Every ticket gets you access to three days of incredible interactive programming, events held in and around the Laguna Cliffs Marriott, and a gift bag. Each attendee will build a Custom Schedule, which may be comprised of Morning Keynotes, Photography Classes, and Boutique Programs.

Program options vary by ticket level:

Snap ticket holders will build a 3-program custom schedule from among their choice of Morning Keynotes and Photography Classes.

Matte, Luster, and Gloss ticket holders will build an 8-program schedule from among their choice of Morning Keynotes, Photography Classes, and up to 2 (Matte ticket), 4 (Luster ticket), or 6 (Gloss ticket) Boutique Programs as part of their Custom Schedule.

Gloss tickets also include exclusive upgrades, including an invitation to the VIP Mixer (where you’ll enjoy lite bites and unlimited cocktails as you mingle with Click Away instructors and Brand Sponsor VIPs) and an amazing VIP Gift Bag.

Business Pass tickets are created especially for any owner or representative of a business, organization, or firm with 2+ employees who is attending Click Away primarily in order to network with attendees on behalf of the business. Business Pass ticket holders have the same event benefits and program schedule options as Luster level ticket holders.

Where is Click Away programming held?

All programs will be held on-site at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott. Indoor programs will be held within conference rooms and hotel suites. Outdoor boutique sessions will be held outdoors on property (which boasts amazing views of the Pacific!), at the beach, or along the harbor – all within walking distance.

I'd like to find a roommate or plan some meet-ups. How can I connect with other Click Away attendees?

We have the perfect place! You can join our Click Away Facebook group HERE., jump right into discussions, or post to find a roommate, plan a meetup or dinner date, etc.

Hotel & Location

Where should I stay for Click Away 2019?

That's easy. You should stay at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott! You'll be in the center of the action and surrounded by Click Away attendees because we've reserved (almost) the entire resort. Yep, you read that right.

The Laguna Cliffs Marriott is located at 25135 Park Lantern, Dana Point, CA 92629.

Is lodging included with my ticket?

Lodging is not included with registration. We have secured a special room rate at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott, right where Click Away is taking place.

How do I book?
To book your hotel room, be sure to use this link so you can get the discounted rate. You may also contact the hotel directly at 949-661-5000 (between 8am and 5pm PST, Monday through Friday), to book your reservation for Click Away 2019.


Booking details to note:
1. Our exclusive rate is $239 plus tax (no resort fee). Please let them know you are part of our group.
2. The Resort Fee will not be charged at the time of booking or checkout.
3. Cancellation policy: A credit card must be supplied at the time of booking and will be charged one night room and tax. This is non-refundable.
4. A guest room can accommodate up to 4 guests.

What airport do I fly into?

Southern California has a variety of airports to choose from. The closest airport to the property (30 minutes) is Orange County's John Wayne Airport (SNA). The Resort is also located halfway between Los Angeles (LAX) and San Diego (SAN) -- about an hour from each. Additionally, the Long Beach airport (LGB) is about 45 minutes away, and Ontario Airport (ONT) – which is the furthest from property – is just over an hour away.

What fun things can I do at this resort?

Aside from grabbing a cup of coffee and taking in breathtaking views of the Pacific from your balcony? Here are a few other options to get you started.

1. Take advantage of one of 378,455 photo ops amidst 75 acres of gardens, lawns and shoreline
2. Take a stroll down to Doheny beach and put your toes in the sand
3. Relax by the ocean view pools
4. Take the trail to the top of the cliffs for what’s maybe the best view ever!
5. Explore the harbor on a kayak, paddle board or jetski
6. Visit the Dana Point Harbor Shops & Restaurants
7. Check out the fully equipped Health & Fitness Center
8. Brush up on your Bocce skills at the resort Bocce Court
9. Book a treatment at the spa
10. Partake in a little tennis or golf
11. Grab a friend and head out for some whale watching (February is peak migration month!)
12. You know you have always wanted to, snag a surfboard and catch a wave!

You may never want to leave.

Can I extend my stay?

Attendees can get the special Click Away room block rate for February 3-15, 2019 room reservations (based on availability). If you want to extend your stay, go right ahead. You’ll just have to call the Marriott to add additional nights to your reservation outside of the Click Away room block.

Conference & Events

When and where do I pickup my badge at Click Away?

You will pick up your conference badge by presenting a photo ID when you arrive at the conference. Your badge will gain you entry to Click Away programs, activities and events.
We have convenient badge pick up times:

  • Friday, February 8 at our Mimosas & Mingle Registration Event 8:30am-10:30am
  • Friday, February 8 10:30am-5:00pm
  • Saturday, February 9 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Sunday, February 10 8:30am-5:00pm

What should I bring with me for Click Away?

Your camera, of course; plus a charger and some extra memory cards (trust us, you are going to be shooting up a storm!). A notebook and pen are necessities, too, because with what these presenters have in store for you, you going to be brimming with information, inspiration, secrets, strategies, and new ideas to try.

Will meals be provided?

Attendees are responsible for their own main meals, so you can be sure your own preferences and dietary restrictions are covered. The resort offers meals for purchase, and there are a variety of dining outlets both on and off property (all within walking distance).

In addition, we will have coffee service each morning, a snack break during Shop the Shops on Saturday, and light appetizers at many of our social events.

Is Click Away a family event? Can my child accompany me?

We have curated a rich social and educational schedule specifically for today’s modern photographer and do not offer programming for children at this time. Infants and nursing babies are always welcome to accompany their mothers, though we respectfully request that you quietly step out if your little one becomes disruptive. If you have a stroller, please don't block aisles or exits. We do not have child-specific programming for young photographers or childcare services at this time, though Dana Point has lots of great recreational activities for your family if they choose to accompany you to the conference!

Can my spouse, sister, or friend accompany me to the social events?

Except as expressly authorized by Click Away event staff, Click Away programming - including educational programs, vendor shops, and social events - are open to registered attendees only. A paid ticket shall be required for any guest or companion over the age of 18 months accompanying you at Click Away in full or in part. Due to space restrictions, we are unable to offer the option to purchase companion passes for individual social events this year.

What's the dress code?

The short answer to this is: Whatever makes you feel great! Want a little more guidance? We'll break it down for you...

Daytime / Program Sessions: Your everyday style is perfect here (whatever that means to you!). If you’re signed up for outdoor boutiques, remember there may be a short walk (up to 15 minutes) to your shooting destination, so plan footwear accordingly. Our best guess for daytime temps will be mid-50s to mid-60s, though things can change, and even indoor conference rooms can be cool. We recommend having a jacket or wrap on hand.

California Dreamin’ hosted by Canon (opening night for all attendees): This year’s opening night party is a vibrant outdoor California Dreamin’ event hosted by Canon on the Del Mar Lawn. Attire is anything that makes YOU feel picture perfect (expect photos galore, and you might just make our #ootd!), and we expect to see a range of fabulous style from attendees, from casual cool to something more glam. Evening temps are likely to dip into the high 40s, and we will have outdoor heaters but recommend bringing along a layer.

Glamping Party hosted by Nikon (farewell event for all attendees): This year’s farewell event is a Glamping Party hosted by Nikon with a camping chic dress theme, and you can’t go wrong with a cute hat or scarf. We’ll be outdoors in a gorgeous grove atop the cliffs as golden hour gives way to twilight. Hello, photo ops!

VIP Mixer (Saturday evening for Gloss ticketholders, partners & instructors): VIP Mixer attendees will take in incredible views from the resort’s elegant Overvue Lounge & Deck. This is an indoor/outdoor event (with fire pits and heaters along the deck), and the recommended attire is cocktail casual.

Does the resort comply with ADA requirements?

Yes, the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Please contact support@clickandcompany.com if you will need special arrangements at the hotel so we can make your visit to Click Away carefree and pleasant.

What's included with my ticket?

Got it! Now, what's the difference between Keynotes, Photography Classes, and Boutique Programs?

Morning Keynote: There will be two unique Morning Keynotes: one on Friday morning and one on Saturday morning. Morning Keynotes can accommodate up to 1000 attendees and do not run concurrently with any other programs. Attendees may attend one or both Morning Keynotes as part of their Custom Schedule.

Photography Class: Photography Classes are large group programs (100-500) with structured presentations and impactful takeaways. There will be seven Photography Classes, each of which will run twice on the schedule. Attendees may choose to attend their choice of these Photography Classes as part of their Custom Schedule.

Boutique Program: Boutique Programs are more intimate group experiences and may include a variety of formats, including shooting demos, styled shoots, business or processing workshops, and roundtable discussions. Matte, Luster, and Gloss attendees may attend up to 2 (Matte ticket), 4 (Luster ticket), or 6 (Gloss ticket) Boutique Programs as part of their 8-Program Custom Schedule. Snap tickets do not include Boutique Programs.

Will you be streaming the programming?

At this time, we have no plans to stream or record 2019 programming.

When can I build my custom schedule?

Upon registering for Click Away, you'll be redirected to our scheduling platform, where you'll be able to lock in your spot to the keynotes, classes, workshops, and shooting boutiques of your choice!

What evening activities are planned, and how do I get tickets to attend?

All Click Away registrations include access to both the Opening Night Party (Friday) and Farewell Event (Sunday). Gloss ticket holders also have access to our VIP Mixer (Saturday).

We're sorry to hear you can't make it! Tickets canceled within 45 days of purchase (but no later than October 1, 2018) are eligible for a full refund. We are unable to offer refunds for ANY reason outside of the 45 day refund window, and no refunds will be processed after October 1, 2018. We understand that emergencies happen and plans change, and for this reason we encourage attendees to protect their purchase with travel insurance. This policy applies to all ticket types, including but not limited to Matte, Luster, Gloss and Business Pass.

While we hope to see you at Click Away 2019, if you need to cancel your registration, please contact support@clickandcompany.com within 45 days of your purchase (and no later than October 1, 2018) to request a refund, and a representative will get back to you within 5 business days.

Adjustments from Matte to Snap will be honored for up to 30 days after Snap tickets are available. No adjustments can be made post November 28, 2018.

I can no longer attend. Can I sell or transfer my ticket?
Click Away tickets are non-transferable. Tickets canceled within 45 days of purchase (but no later than October 1, 2018) are eligible for a full refund. We are unable to offer refunds for ANY reason outside of the 45 day refund window, and no refunds will be processed after October 1, 2018. We understand that emergencies happen and plans change, and for this reason we encourage attendees to protect their purchase with travel insurance.

While we hope to see you at Click Away 2019, if you need to cancel your registration, please contact support@clickandcompany.com within 45 days of your purchase (and no later than October 1, 2018) to request a refund, and a representative will get back to you within 5 business days.

Can I upgrade my ticket?
Yes! You can upgrade to a higher ticket level if tickets are available. Email us (support@clickandcompany.com) and we'll get you squared away.

Will tickets sell out?

A limited number of each ticket type is available, and tickets will sell out. We suggest grabbing your spot as soon as you can. Once tickets sell out, we will set up a waitlist for hopeful attendees.
